With so many new frameworks appearing every day and so little time to learn and master them, as a developer, I found it hard to catch up with the ever evolving world of programming. The programming jobs are demanding and fast paced often one needs to learn a language or a framework over a weekend and start coding the following Monday. I found there's a need for no-nonsense, just to the point books on technical subjects.
If only I found a book that would teach me everything I needed in few hours, or a day or two.A book that instills the required confidence to start coding immediately

I am a Java Developer working in London, primarily with investment banks and financial organisations. My aim is to deliver such books, a simple, straight-to-the-point and example driven books! A book that you should finish in few hours or a day or two!

I really do like this book. It's quite small but covers a lot on Java 8 Lambdas, Interfaces, Functions, Streams and Parallel processing. I like that the author explains these features simply and concisely, covering how to use each as well as why they are used and the benefits of each. There are plenty of code examples to aid understanding. I do think the prose could be improved though to flow better. I would have knocked off a half star if I could have but this didn't warrant a full star off. It's a good book to get up to speed quickly and I highly recommend it.

Good book written in easy language to understand

As the author mentioned, this book is for you if you have to get quick overview of Lambda Expressions in Java 8 over the weekend. You have to be an experienced Java developer to understand the concepts. This book has examples and snippets of code that would give an overview of changes to Java 8 APIs due to introduction of Lambdas. It also gives an exposure to functional programming. I recommended the book to Java developers who work for me to read so that they can be up to date with the changes in Java 8.

I have read my friend Madhusudhan's book "All About Java 8 Lambdas: Introducing Java 8 Lambdas". It is very clear and concise book like his another popular book "Just Spring". If you want to learn "Java 8 Lambdas", I highly recommend this book to you.
